Meet Attorney Gene Brooks

Attorney Eugene “Gene” C. Brooks, IVBrooks Law Office’s founding partner, Attorney Eugene “Gene” C. Brooks, IV, started the practice in 1993. Before founding his own firm, Gene worked in a different office for a decade following his University of North Carolina School of Law graduation in 1982. He also earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina, at their campus in Chapel Hill.

He began his legal career representing the victims of toxic exposure, such as asbestos, lead, formaldehyde, and other occupational chemical hazards. He eventually expanded the focus of his practice to include pharmaceutical litigation, and served as counsel in nationwide Fen-Phen, Vioxx, and estrogen-MPA hormones cases.

As the founding attorney of Brooks Law Office, Gene has expanded the focus of his legal practice to include cases of motor vehicle collisions, defective products, premises liability, work injuries, and more. He prides himself on his ability to provide individualized care to each client as the head of a locally-based law firm. Because Brooks Law Office has a small pool of clients, Gene is able to lend his years of experience to each person and directly work with each case.

Gene is a former president of the Savannah Trial Lawyers Association, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, and the Southeast Georgia Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocacy. He has also served as the co-chairman of the American Association for Justice’s Formaldehyde Litigation Group, and worked on various committees of the State Bar of Georgia. Gene has published multiple articles related to toxic torts and dangerous drugs, as well as presented seminars on various legal topics.
